A sliver of stainless steel fibers

We recently received this incredible sample, and what you probably can't tell from looking at it is that it's magnetic.

This here is a sliver of stainless steel fibers. From this, sliver yarns - including pure stainless steel yarn - can be made; it can alternately be blended with other fibres depending on your desired application. As a metal, this material allows for unique and specific textile properties and is used for things like shielding, fiber reinforcement and the making of electrically conductive and electrostatically-controlled yarns.
