Festival of Stuff: Morning - Concrete and Recycled Plastic Masterclass
Festival of Stuff Public Events
*** Ticket bookings go live on Tuesday 29 May at 8pm. Due to the popularity of the workshops we can only allow two Festival of Stuff workshop bookings per person. ***
Come along to explore the materiality of concrete with Leigh Cameron, who has dedicated his life to working with this material, and has masterminded exciting concrete making processes that incorporate waste plastic. The masterclass will include mould-making, casting, playing with the constituent materials and looking at different processes and formulations.
Leigh’s work brings new techniques and technologies to this 2000 year-old material in order to push and develop what is capable of. He aims to develop a new context and aesthetic dialogue, considering concrete's materiality; investigating its diversity, structural properties, its weight, adaptability and material content, exploring its texture, colour, form and relationship to other materials.
This workshop is part of the Festival of Stuff.
