Festival of Stuff Public EventsJoin this event
Celebrate the sheer joy of making and materials at the Festival of Stuff!
We're hosting a one-day, large-scale, drop-in and totally free street festival about making and materials.
Join the Institute of Making team for an afternoon filled to the brim with delectable making madness, hands-on activities, interactive demonstrations, free food and live music. Previous years allowed visitors to try throwing clay on a pottery wheel, to experiment with metal casting, to learn the tricks of the blacksmithing trade, to explore the science of squishing, to delve into the small but mighty world of super absorbent polymers, and to watch a 14-ton steam roller cruise a bespoke crushing catwalk.
Be sure to save this spectacular date in your diary and sign up to our mailing list sign up to our mailing list to receive festival updates and news.
The Institute of Making is an interdisciplinary research organisation, with a Materials Library and multi-material workshop spaces. Our aim is to provide all those interested in the made world with a creative home in which to contemplate all aspects of materials and their relationship to making.
Institute of Making events are free and open to all.
Date: the Festival of Stuff takes place Saturday 21st June from 1-5pm
