Member Masterclass: Enamelling, Afternoon Session

Member Events

This masterclass will be led by maker Helen Carnac, who will introduce the process of applying enamel to metal resulting in participants making disk or badges to take away. During this session Helen will describe the process of enamelling and its historical context. Through a series of short demos participants will then be taken through the basic principles and methods of fusing vitreous enamel to metal, before trying the process themselves and creating a small panel or badge during the process.

Helen Carnac is an artist, maker and curator who lives and works in London. Setting up her studio in the early 1990‘s, Helen develops projects using design methodologies that are rooted in an acute awareness of physical location, place and working practices.
