Members Masterclass: Low-cost 3D scanning with Jan Boehm

Member Events

A hands-on scanning practical, using a kinect-style sensor We will be using open source and free software to scan your objects and prepare them for 3D printing. Bring along your laptop, a small object to digitize, (no larger than a football) and leave with a digital model, ready for virtual reality applications, 3D printing or other computer controlled making techniques. We'll also be scanning ourselves using the hand held sensor. Links to the 3D modelling software for installation on your laptop will be circulated after inscription.

This session is led by Jan Boehm of UCL's 3DIMPact: 3D Imaging, Metrology, Photogrammetry Applied Coordinate Technologies at UCL CEGE (Civil , Environmental and Geomatic Engineering).
