Public Open day: July 27th - Foam

The Institute of Making will be opening it's doors Saturday the 27th of July. Come along to explore and get hands on with Foam. 


Foam is formed of a collection of tiny bubbles which form on the surface of a liquid. Explore Aerogel, developed by NASA to catch startdust its the lightest solid as its made of 99% air. Take a nibble on some bio degradable packaging thats made of wheat starch. Try your hand at foam carving and moulding with air-dough in the MakeSpace. Explore what happens when you add sugar, fat, acid, or salt whilst whisking egg whites: What forms the perfect egg white froth?

No need to book - just drop in from 1pm.

Doors close at 4pm. Space is limited.
