Public Open Day: May - Luminescence

Public Events

The Institute of Making will be opening it's doors on the last Saturday of every month, to explore and get hands on with the Materials Library collection, to try out tools in the MakeSpace, and to try your hand at tinkering; we'll be hosting different activities each time. We'll also host demonstrations and maker sessions with experts and enthusiasts from all sorts of backgrounds; from electronics to bread making, glass to rope.

This time we're exploring luminescence; watch artists heating, bending and filling neon tubes before your eyes. There'll be glow-in-the-dark mouldable plastic sculpting and glow-in-the-dark liquid filled test tubes to laser etch, invisible UV face paints and lots of luminous material demonstrations in the library.

The events are free! - No need to book - drop in between 1pm and 4pm.
Space is limited.
