Public workshop: Introduction to Darning

Have you got holes in your jumper, your socks or your much-loved trainers?

Join Institute of Making Director Zoe Laughlin for for an introduction to darning. Zoe has spent lockdown fixing all manner of garments by darning, a technique of patching holes using only thread, and will teach participants the basics over Zoom video call. After Zoe has passed on her skills in this hour-long workshop, you will have learnt the rudiments of darning and can continue to mend items at home!

No experience or skill necessary, all welcome!

To take part in the session you will need:
-      thread
-      a needle
-      a textile item with holes or frayed sections
-      a laptop, phone or iPad with a functioning camera and sound.
