Technician Online Consultations

Member Events

We realise that many of you will continue to work on research and other projects that may require making, or that you might have things to fix and repair at home. We are therefore experimenting with a new way of running technician consultation sessions, so that members can continue to work with our brilliant technician team on hands-on projects.

Login on your member profile on our website to book a session. We will have 4x twenty-minute sessions available as we test out the consulation format:

Session 1 - from 2pm-2.20pm

Session 2 - from 2.30pm-2.50pm

Session 3 - from 3pm-3.20pm

Session 4 - from 3.30pm-3.50pm

Team capacity for these sessions is limited and once they are fully booked we are afraid that we cannot make more available until the following week.

After you have booked a session, please send an email to members@instituteofmaking.org.uk to let us know a bit more about the project you are working on and what you'd like to consult on. That way we can make sure that the technicians with the most relevant technical skills will be at your session.

Sessions are a maximum of twenty minutes long so please make sure that you have prepared and streamlined your questions. Even better; email us your questions in advance if you want to, which will help our technicians to give you the best advice and make the most use of your time together.

We will trial these new sessions from the beginning of April, and adapt the format as needed.
