Breathable Coffee

Material ID: 949

Description

This little contraption is designed to deliver the taste and ‘kick’ of coffee in particle form. If you put the applicator in your mouth and suck, your mouth is then filled with the sweet taste of coffee. Each inhalation is equivalent in potency to one cup of espresso coffee, and is in essence an intense coffee cloud containing particles small enough to travel through the air and onto your tongue, but big enough not to enter into your lungs. Developed by biomedical engineer Dr David Edwards at Harvard University, the technology is being adapted to make an inhalable tuberculosis vaccine through non-profit organisation Medicine in Need.
