Lead Bugle

Material ID: 696

Description

Described by its makers as “one instrument you don’t want to practice too much”, this lead bugle was made by Zoe Laughlin and Rex Garrod for part of an event in the States of Flux gallery at Tate Modern. The lead bugle was paired with a traditional copper brass Post Office bugle of exactly the same dimensions and audience members were invited to play both and explore the acoustic properties of the two materials.
