How to access this tool
Drop-in use
Drop into the workshop during our opening hours to use this tool, but ask a technician if you need any training first.
Key information
Yellow tools require further training. Training will be available either in the form of a bookable tool training session, or by dropping into the space and making an arrangement with a technician.
A router uses a milling cutter housed in either a handheld unit or tabletop, and is used for chamfering, cutting grooves, slots, recesses, radii and other profiles.
Our mini routers are used principally in woodworking but can also cut plastics. The main advantage of the mini router is the ability to cut profiles into smaller pieces of work.
Please note
The milling cutter can be height adjusted for shallower or deeper cuts.
What can I use this tool for?
Suited to cutting wood and plastics for small and fine applications and projects.
Cutting profiles into lengths of stock for frames, models or small pieces to be attached to larger objects.

What training do I need to use this tool?
The induction for this mini tool is by arrangement with a technician.
If you would like to use a mini router, come to the workshop during opening hours and work out a time to be inducted with one of the technical staff.
