Key information
Green tools are our general-use tools. These have either been demonstrated or explained in your New Member Induction, or are safe for use after a demonstration by a technician. Always ask a member of staff before using any green tools for the first time, or if you are not sure how to use these safely.
Pillar drills are designed to make accurate holes in material by lowering a quill with an attached drill bit into material clamped to a bed underneath.
Please note
This machine cannot be used with any materials that may create harmful dust.
If you would like to drill hardened steel or other specialist materials, please speak to a technician first.
What can I use this tool for?
Pillar drills allow for more precise drilling than would be possible with a hand drill. Workpieces can be accurately clamped to the bed, the drill depth can be set down to the millimetre and you can also control the speed so that many different materials can be drilled at the correct RPM.
